Teaser Tuesdays: Get Even

Teaser Tuesdays

It’s time for another “Teaser Tuesday!”

This feature (or meme)  is one I discovered on my friend Kim’s site Book Munchies, and is hosted by MizB of the Should Be Reading blog. For those of you who would like to play along at home (or more specifically on your homepage), here is how Teaser Tuesdays work.

– Grab (one of) your current read(s) and open it to a random page
– Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
– BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
– Remember to include the title & author, too, so that your followers and any Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their reading lists if your tease has captured their attention!

Olivia’s hands shook so violently she had to sit on them to keep them from vibrating the entire row of chairs. Suddenly it all made sense. Amber’s parents had bought her a role in this production, but they hadn’t been able to guarantee that she’d win the internship. And what was the best way to do that? Eliminate the competition.

The Breakfast Club meets Pretty Little Liars in Gretchen McNeil’s witty and suspenseful novel about four disparate girls who join forces to take revenge on high school bullies and create dangerous enemies for themselves in the process.

Bree, Olivia, Kitty, and Margot have nothing in common—at least that’s what they’d like the students and administrators of their elite private school to think. The girls have different goals, different friends, and different lives, but they share one very big secret: They’re all members of Don’t Get Mad, a secret society that anonymously takes revenge on the school’s bullies, mean girls, and tyrannical teachers.

When their latest target ends up dead with a blood-soaked “DGM” card in his hands, the girls realize that they’re not as anonymous as they thought—and that someone now wants revenge on them. Soon the clues are piling up, the police are closing in . . . and everyone has something to lose.

Okay, so, who hasn’t fantasized about getting even with all those who’ve done you wrong? Especially when you were in high school. I’m sure many people can’t say what they want to in the moment, or have trouble standing up for themselves, and I LOVE the idea that these girls are getting even for them. This book just sounds so delicious and drama-filled and holy-moley a murder to boot? This one, this is gonna be good. I can feel it!
