The Roaming Librarian’s Review Policy

The Roaming Librarian is currently open to receiving galleys, ARCs, and Review Copies of books. I accept physical books and could possibly be open to audiobooks. This site DOES NOT accept self published books. Reviews may be published on my site, on Goodreads.com, and occasionally BN.com or Amazon.com as well. If there’s a specific place you want the review posted at, mention that in your request. If provided with an ARC, it will not be given away or resold. I only accept books that will be considered for a review. Accepting a book is not a promise that I will review. Accepting or receiving a book, is also not a guarantee that it will be read immediately or posted on the blog either. Every book that I read will be rated on my Goodreads.com Profile page. I will try my best to get books read and reviewed in a timely manner, but please understand that I have a job offline, as well as other titles I’m committed to reading. If you have a time frame for when you would like the review to be posted, please let me know when you submit the request. It will greatly influence my decision to review, and I will have to see if I can commit to that timeline. If the book is an ARC copy, I will try and publish the review on or around the release date. The party who submits the review will be alerted when the review is posted.

I accept digital e-book formats (.epub or pdf, I cannot access Kindle books) or physical copies of the books to review. DRM files are not preferred but accepted if that’s the only option.

In accordance with FTC guidelines, any books received and reviewed on this site must be provided for free. I do not and will not receive money for any reviews I have posted or will post. Any books or ARCs received for free will be made clear in the review.

Submissions and Requests:

Requests for reviews can be made to theroaminglibrarian [AT] gmail [DOT] com. When emailing me, please include the summary, release date, and a picture of the cover. Please include a copy of the book if it’s digital. If you are submitting a physical copy for the review, please let me know that so I can inform you of where to send it. Any links to further information would be appreciated as well. Please do not send quotes from other reviewers about your book.

Genres I’m open but not limited to:

  • Children’s Literature (Picture books, easy readers, and middle grade age levels)
  • YA (contemporary fiction, sci-fi/ fantasy, fantasy, mystery/thriller, & romance)
  • Fiction (especially contemporary and chick lit)
  • Fantasy, and some sci-fi
  • Romance
  • Comic Books and Graphic Novels
  • Mysteries and suspense thrillers

The Roaming Librarian is happy to host author interviews, giveaways, and other promotional events, but sometimes may have to decline due to lack of time or interest. I might consider being a guest blogger on other book-related blogs. Just contact me with your idea.

Disclaimer:

I’m not a paid blogger. I’m an actual librarian, spending my free time writing about what I love most. I openly give my opinions to my readers. All reviews published will be an honest opinion, and could potentially contain negative comments regarding the book. Reviews will not given with mean-spirited intent, but will be truthful in addressing any problems the reviewer had with the book. Please understand that I will not write a positive review just because you sent a copy of the book. I intend to give my readers candid opinions of the book I read and how I thought or felt about it. The opinions expressed by me do not reflect the views of all authors who may consent to write on this blog.

Thank-you for your cooperation and consideration in this matter!
