New York Times bestselling, award-winning creator Bill Willingham presents a new series starring the female FABLES. Balancing horror, humor and adventure in the FABLES tradition, FAIREST explores the secret histories of Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, Cinderella, The Snow Queen, Thumbelina, Snow White, Rose Red and others.

When Nalayani seeks the help of the Maharaja to save her village from the Dhole, she uncovers a secret that could change the Fables Universe forever: the still alive and long-thought dead Prince Charming!

I must admit: I’m a total Fangirl when it comes to Fables. This series has everything I could possibly want, an updated twist on folk and fairy tales, thrilling adventures and battles, and unexpected (sometimes) romances. Bad guys are good guys, and good guys become total baddies. There’s sex and gore (often in the same issue). It’s got a level of wit that is on par with Joss Whedon, and some of the storylines are incredibly sly. And they really go down into the depths of folklore and explore beneath the surface to versions of the stories that are dark and generally unexplored. These are no Disney stories. They are gritty an–in some cases–horrifying. The Fairest spinoffs, are wonderful because in addition to all of the above, they focus on just how badass some of these fairy tale women can be. This one in particular has me so anxious because I NEED to know what happened to Prince Charming. I wonder if he’s at all changed from his previous ‘adventures’. I’m practically twitching to get my hands on it… I just can’t get enough!

    1. Thanks! It’s a spin-off of the original Fables series (all created by Bill Willingham) but there are many writers and illustrators. I highly recommend it, especially if you like fairy tales.
