At the dawn of time, there were 13 Houses in the Zodiac Galaxy. Now only 12 remain….

Rhoma Grace is a 16-year-old student from House Cancer with an unusual way of reading the stars. While her classmates use measurements to make accurate astrological predictions, Rho can’t solve for ‘x’ to save her life—so instead, she looks up at the night sky and makes up stories.

When a violent blast strikes the moons of Cancer, sending its ocean planet off-kilter and killing thousands of citizens—including its beloved Guardian—Rho is more surprised than anyone when she is named the House’s new leader. But, a true Cancrian who loves her home fiercely and will protect her people no matter what, Rho accepts.

Then, when more Houses fall victim to freak weather catastrophes, Rho starts seeing a pattern in the stars. She suspects Ophiuchus—the exiled 13th Guardian of Zodiac legend—has returned to exact his revenge across the Galaxy. Now Rho—along with Hysan Dax, a young envoy from House Libra, and Mathias, her guide and a member of her Royal Guard—must travel through the Zodiac to warn the other Guardians.

But who will believe anything this young novice says? Whom can Rho trust in a universe defined by differences? And how can she convince twelve worlds to unite as one Zodiac?

Embark on a dazzling journey with ZODIAC, the first novel in an epic sci-fi-meets-high-fantasy series set in a galaxy inspired by the astrological signs.

This premise has all the hallmarks of an incredible space-opera in the making. I’m really looking forward to how all the Zodiac signs will be represented in this story, and by the fantastical elements the premise mentions. And can I just take a moment for that cover? Wow. Completely awesome. And the possible 13th Zodiac… I can’t wait to learn more!

  3. Hi Kerry! Interesting choice for your WoW. I’ve seen the cover around, but I’ve never really put attention to what the book was about. But now that I kind of do know, it sounds like something I might want to read 🙂

  4. I agree – the cover is pretty. You know, this is a pretty interesting book and it had me recalling the news about a 13th Zodiac, but apparently astrologers have known about it for a very long time. Hehe.

I’m also interested with how each Zodiac House will be represented. Plus, this one is set in space and those who have read ARCs have positive things to say. Maybe I might check this one out or suggest it for my younger cousins. Haha. We’ll see. 🙂

  5. I’d seen some posts about this book on Penguin’s Facebook, but hadn’t really looked into it. It definitely sounds intriguing. I’ll definitely add it to my GR. Plus, my sign is Cancer, so it’ll be interesting to see how the main character is portrayed.
