Teaser Tuesdays: Dreams Made Flesh

Teaser Tuesdays

It’s time for another “Teaser Tuesday!”

This feature (or meme)  is one I discovered on my friend Kim’s site Book Munchies, and is hosted by MizB of the Should Be Reading blog. For those of you who would like to play along at home (or more specifically on your homepage), here is how Teaser Tuesdays work.

– Grab (one of) your current read(s) and open it to a random page
– Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
– BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
– Remember to include the title & author, too, so that your followers and any Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their reading lists if your tease has captured their attention!

—> Now on to the main event!

Dreams Made Flesh (The Black Jewels, #5) by Anne Bishop

Hardcover, 448 pages
Publisher: Roc Trade
Release Date: January 4th, 2005
ISBN# 9780451460134
Page: 7

“But as she built the web, she … felt things. So she spun them into the web, ignoring instinct and placing the threads where they needed to be. Sorrow. Pain. Longing. Need. Hope.

As she cautiously traveled the strands of the completed tangled web, warmth flowed through her. She paused, absorbed the feel of this sensation, and added one more small thread. Joy.”

— from Weaver of Dreams
(the first story in the collection.)

    1. Thanks! I hear ya, I have so many books on my TBR list. I’ll never get to them all. Bishop is my favorite author, so I will say, if you do get a chance, I HIGHLY recommend all of her series. Black Jewels is her first and my favorite of them all. Happy reading!

    1. Thanks! It’s my favorite series/author. This is book 5, which contains 4 short stories/novellas that continue and expand upon the original trilogy. I would recommend reading that first. The books go Daughter of the Blood, Heir to the Shadows, and then Queen of the Darkness. I’ve never read anything quite like it!

  1. Another lovely cover for the series.
The authors words evoke emotions just like the girl does spinning the threads.
Thanks so much for stopping by my tease:)
